ADCP Beam Selection Helper
Our standard configuration. This is used for all
standard Water Current measurements.
A 4 beam ADCP with a Vertical beam for wave height,
period measurements or ice tracking when upward looking or downward looking as an echo sounder.
A Dual Frequency system. Each frequency has its trade offs. The
higher frequencies are good for small bins and shallow water measurements. The lower frequencies are
good
for deep water measurements. If you need both, then a dual frequency system is a good choice. If you need an upward and downward looking ADCP.
A hybrid of a Dual Frequency with a Vertical beam. Our electronics limits us to
8 beams. So to make a dual frequency with a vertical beam, we needed to use 3 beams per frequency.

An Acoustic Doppler Current Profilers (ADCP) is used to measure the speed and direction of the water throughout the water column to generate a River Discharge measurement. In addition to Bottom Track, a GPS can be connected directly to our ADCP. This GPS data will be included with our ADCP data and can be used to solve the moving bottom issues.
Internally all of our ADCPs come with the same features and the same electronics.
The only options you need to determine are:
River Discharge Measurements
River Discharge Measurements are made using an ADCP. Mount the ADCP to a boat, trimaran or USV to make multiple transects and calculate a river discharge measurement.
Our trimaran boat includes a spread spectrum radio to give superior range and robustness in your river discharge measurements compared to Bluetooth or WIFI.

Fixed, single point and real-time River Discharge Measurements
Horizontal ADCP used to measure the water current profile horizontally from a fixed location. This is typically used in ports and rivers to measure across the water at a single depth. A vertical beam is also used to measure the water depth and tides. The measurements are used as an aide when navigating ports to ensure the water currents will not drive a vessel into the wall or shallows.
Custom Designed ADCP
A custom designed ADCP. If none of these configurations work for you, we can also supply you the transducers and electronics and you design your own mechanical parts. This allows the user to design custom mounts and housings and also incorporate our ADCP.
