The observatory incorporates our Rowe Technologies Inc. SeaWATCH ADCP our their buoys. Our ADCP report the water velocity and direction at the surface and at 6 meters depth.
600khz ADCP used by Énergie de la Lune in Bordeaux, France The Rowe Technologies 1200 KHz Acoustic Doppler Current Profiler (ADCP) is a sophisticated device that provides precise profiling and bottom track information at shorter ranges. Unfortunately, the extreme opacity of the water in the Garonne River in Bordeaux perpetuated by high turbidity and high backscatter due to suspended sediment, requires a lower frequency device even in a shallow water column.
