Integration
Today we work with Kearfott to integrate our DVL with a Kearfott INS. They came to our location and we worked out all the commands they expect to send to the DVL to configure the ADCP. With the command ENGWHN 1
our DVL will output a carrot >
and will accept the same commands as a Navigator. This allowed the integration to go quickly and smoothly.
We then ran into one problem. After a few tests, we determined that our serial output rate was about double the speed of a Navigator. So in the firmware, we double the length of time it took to output the data. The INS was then alive and receiving our data.
Next step is to take the complete package to the lake and do some trail runs to verify the data looks good. Kearfott is also receiving a demo unit so they can do some performance tests. Hopefully in the near feature, they can start using our DVL in replacement of a Navigator.
